WITH the election barely over, some people might be wondering about signs like this one in the men’s toilets at Readings Cinema centre in Courtenay Pl.
The Electoral Office explains that its campaign to get citizens enrolled will continue year-round.
People changing details are required to re-enrol, and advertising reminds them to keep details up-to-date, says Anna Hughes of the Chief Electoral Office.
“We enrol people every day of the year,” says Ms Hughes.
Although advertising peaks during the election campaign, it continues throughout the year for such things as the anti-smacking postal referendum in 2009.
The office has a fixed contract for the “orange guy” advertising on buses and when that expires they will be replaced by other ads.
The sign (we think) is a play on MMP(ee). Geddit?
